EDC (Every Day Carry) Bag

This is my bag. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

EDC (Every Day Carry) bags. What are they? Depends on who you ask, and how they/you configure them.

Vertx Gamut 2.0 Backpack (Toy Soldier/Tumbleweed)

This is my everyday backpack, and what I use for work (slide my laptop in and go).

$203.99 on Amazon. Not a CHEAP backpack, but no doubt there are fancier, more expensive ones.

Design for Defense

One of the primary reasons I chose this particular backpack was it's design from the start for armor insert.

I purchased mine from Premier Body Armor, and this is a Level IIIA.

Built for Tacticool

Up front is a tear-away style zipper front pouch, with molle backing. This is where I have a Leatherman multitool, and carry my Sig Sauer P365XL with Holosun green dot optic. Currently I have this in a fatguy appendix carry holster.

Eyepro and TQ

In the quick access top pocket, I keep a pair of tinted eye protection (ballistic rated) and a NAR (North American Rescue) highviz tourniquet.

I subscribe to the "don't cheap on TQs" philosophy, and only buy quality TQs from NAR. They are reputable, run $29 I think for one, and proven. If you're buying Amazon, ehhh watch out you aren't getting some Chinesium shit that will break the first time you need to use it.

DON'T SKIMP ON MEDICAL!

I totally buy Chinesium for some things, to help save to spend where it matters. Medical matters. Not that I am any kind of expert in any way, but this is what I believe (and parroting from various medical trainings and reputable YouTubers like Bear Independent).

What's in the box?

In the main pocket, there are some tacticool spots where I keep Fox Five Point Three pepper spray for a less-than-lethal self-defense option.

Additionally is a sharpie, a pen, and folding pocket knife.

In the first top pouch I have an Anker power charger, a rite in the rain notepad, and some surefire earpro. You might start to get a feel for what my bag is designed for here, which is primarily around probably active-shooter type situation. Ability to charge phone/devices, take notes (what was the shooter wearing, etc), and if I have to get in a gunfight, I have ear/eye protection.

Final Contents

Move to the bottom pocket and inside of the main bag, I have three maps, even though I don't know how the hell to read them, it would be a figure it out in the moment I guess.

Last pieces are a few granola bars for calories, and a btech gmrs radio.
